4-3. Tape Running Adjustment

. Slant Guide Alignment Cassette:
Confirmation
1. Set the L cassette
(1) Place the reel table to the L cassette position.
(Refer to Section 3-1-4.)
(2) Set the L cassette and put a weight (about
1000 g) on the cassette so that the cassette
does not rise up.
2. Turn the Power On
3. Set the unit into the line mode
4. Check the tape running condition on
the exit side of the drum in the modes
below
(a) FWD (PLAY) mode
Check that the tape running condition satisfies
specification 2.
If specification 2 is not satisfied, perform steps 6
and 8.
(b) VAR _ _ _ _ _ 1 time normal speed mode
Check that the tape running condition satisfies
specification 2.
If specification 2 is not satisfied, perform steps 7
and 8.
(c) VAR _ _ _ _ _ 5 times normal speed mode
Check that the tape running condition satisfies
specification 2.
If specification 2 is not satisfied, perform steps 6,
7 and 8.

(d) F FWD mode
Check that the tape running condition satisfies
specification 2.
If specification 2 is not satisfied, perform steps 6,
7 and 8.
(e) REW mode
Check that the tape running condition satisfies
specification 2.
If specification 2 is not satisfied, perform steps 6,
7 and 8.
5. Check the tape running condition at T
reel
(1) Set the slant guide alignment cassette.
(2) Check that the tape running condition satisfies
specification 3 in step 5 of "3-23-2. Slant
Guide Slantness Adjustment."
(3) If specification 3 is not satisfied, perform
steps 6 and 7 of "3-23-2. Slant Guide Slant-
ness Adjustment."
