3-8. CTL/TC Head Replacement
Installation
6. Installing the CTL/TC Head Assembly
(1) Align the two sloted holes of the CTL/TC
head assembly with the two bosses of the
chassis.

. Be careful not to touch the drum (especially
rotary heads). Also, take care not to
damage the peripheral tape guides.
. Be careful not to damage the CTL/TC head
surface.
(2) Adjust to position the bosses of the chassis in
the center of sloted holes and tighten with the
screw A.
7. Installing the CONFI Head Positioning
Plate
(1) Pass the CONFI head positioning plate and
CONFI head bracket through the shaft and fix
it with the screw B.
(2) Pass the compression coil spring removed in
step 4 through the shaft.
8. Installing the CONFI Head Assembly
Install the CONFI head assembly.
(Refer to step 4 in Section 3-7.)
9. Connecting the Harness
Connect the harness to the connector of the CTL/
TC head board.
10. Installing the CL Guide Rail
Install the CL guide rail.
(Refer to step 24 in Section 3-20.)
11. Cleaning
Clean the CTL/TC head and CONFI head surfac-
es with a cleaning cloth moistened with cleaning
fluid.

After cleaning, wipe with a dry cleaning cloth.
