Fire-resistant walls and doors
The same facts apply for fire walls as for normal walls mentioned in the section above.
Coverage for fire walls is the same as for concrete walls. See Ceilings and floors on page 41. If
fire doors are open during the site survey, close the fire doors before performing the final site
survey measurement and finalizing the base station plan. If a fire breaks out and the doors are
closed, sufficient coverage is still required.
Special areas
Special areas affect base station planning, and you must ensure full DECT coverage in the
following areas:
Outdoors and car parks
Coverage outdoors is usually not a problem as there are minimal obstacles. The base station
location depends on the client and on the size of the area to be covered. If the client wants to
have a minimum number of base stations in the outdoors because of the cost of outdoor
housing, you can install one or more indoor base stations with antennas in front of a window.
