Configuring Avaya DECT phones

Importing contacts

You can import a phonebook file (that is, local phonebook) to a telephone. The phonebook file is
a tab-separated .txt file, and contains two items per row, number and name. The PDM is used to
import the phonebook file to the handset.

Shortcuts

This feature is included in 3725, 3740, 3745, and 3749, but not in 3720 DECT handset.
One click access to predefined functions can be configured for the Soft keys, Hot keys,
Navigation keys, and the Multi-function button. For example, you can define the Soft key to
make a call by selecting the Phone call function. Selecting the user sequence function provides
an option to send, for example, FAC through shortcut. When configuring the function, the
following values can be entered:
Digits 0-9, #,*
H: Hook
P: Pause
T: DTMF tone on
t: DTMF tone off
U: user input, the telephone prompts for user input with the possibility to enter and edit
numerical characters or even select a number from the local contacts (procedure call).
Additional codes in stimulus mode:
A: Prog
B: List
C: Redial
D: Shift
E: Speed dial
Shortcuts are configured via parameters in the Shortcuts folder.
