Installing and operating the AIWS and the
AIWS2
Introduction
The Avaya In-Building Wireless Server (AIWS) is a server for handling wireless services and
messaging. It runs on a solid Elise 2 Server (AIWS) or on a Elise 3 Server (AIWS2) that is an
updated hardware version in a new housing. You can combine any number of Elise 2 and Elise
3 servers in a multi AIWS/AIWS2 installation. However the AIWS2 includes some new features
that are not available on the AIWS. This chapter describes both the AIWS and AIWS2. Features
described for AIWS are common for AIWS2, too. Any differences in the configuration and the
new features for AIWS2 only are highlighted accordingly.
This chapter describes the installation and configuration of AIWS plus operation of the system.
