Additional Administrator Accounts
The Additional Administrator Account section on the lower part of the page displays a list of
existing additional system administrator accounts.
Moving administrator accounts when upgrading to Edition 3
When upgrading an IPBS software Edition 1, 2, or 3 to Edition 4 above, the existing system
administrator accounts remain configured locally in the IPBS(s). Avaya recommends that you
configure the system administrator accounts centrally by moving the accounts to the Kerberos
server to prevent a potential security risk.
To create additional administrator accounts, you must configure the Kerberos server. See
Centralized management of Administrator or Auditor Accounts using Kerberos
To move the system administrator accounts to the Kerberos server:
1. On each IPBS where system administrator accounts are configured locally:
a. Select General > Admin.
b. Go to the Additional Administrator and Auditor Accounts section.
c. Write down each accounts configuration data, such as the user name, password
(when known), and role.
2. On the Kerberos server, do the following:
a. Select General > Kerberos Server.
b. Go to the Users section and enter the configuration data that you wrote down down in
step 1 for each account.
c. Click OK.
3. For each IPBS where system administrator accounts are configured locally, delete the
local system administrator accounts:
a. Select General > Admin.
b. Go to the Additional Administrator and Auditor Accounts section.
c. For each account row, select the Delete check box.
Creating an Additional Account
To create an additional administrator account:
1. Log in as system administrator. See
2. Select Configuration > General > Kerberos Server.
3. On the next free account row in the Users section:
a. Enter a user name.
b. Enter a password.
c. Enter the password again.
