Copy protection
With such a versatile copier built right into your fax machine, you might
want to make sure it doesn't become too tempting to some people whose
unauthorized copying could deplete your machine's supplies more rapidly.
So, to limit the use of your fax machine to only sending and receiving
faxes — in other words, to activate copy protection:
1. If the machine is in Fax mode, skip to step 2.
Otherwise, press COPY/FAX to change to Fax mode.
2. Press PROGRAM, J, 0, 3, ENTER.

3. Press PROGRAM to turn on copy protection.

4. Press ENTER.

While this setting is active, whenever someone tries to change the
machine to Copy mode, the machine will sound a brief alarm tone and
display:
Fax Ready
Copy Off
Important:
To turn off copy protection so that you can again use the
machine's copying function, repeat steps 2-4 above (step 1
is unnecessary since the machine will be in Fax mode)
except that, in step 3, you press PROGRAM so that the
display shows:
Copy Protect:
Off
Program/Enter
On
Program/Enter
** Complete **
