2.14 Switching of ranges and gears on GB

2.14.1 General information

The BELARUS-922.6 transmission in its standard configuration is equipped with a
synchromesh gearbox with double-lever control and a synchronized reduction gear (GB
14F+4R ).
Against order BELARUS-922.6 tractor can be equipped with a transmission with a syn-
chromesh gearbox with double-lever control and a reverse gear (GB 7F+6R).
Reduction gear (reverse gear) is controlled mechanically, using a lever on the left
side of the instrument panel facing.
2.14.2 Gear switching in the transmission a reduction gear
The gear can be switched using three levers: GB range shifting lever 6 (Figure 2.14.1),
gear shifting lever 6 (fig. 2.14.1), and reduction gear control lever 1.
A required range, gear and gear and stage of the reduction gear down (decelerating
stage - a symbol of the "turtle", accelerating stage – a symbol of the "hare") is selected accord-
ing to switching diagrams 5, 4 and 2, as illustrated in Figure 2.14.1.
Ranges and gears are switched by separate levers 6 and 3: lever 6 engages a range
(I-st (lower) or II-nd (higher)), lever 3 engages a gear.
GB range shifting lever has no fixed neutral position, so the I-st or II-nd GB range is
always on.
Reduction gear control lever 8 shall be in the engaged (fixed) position during the op-
eration of the tractor: backward - decelerating stage (a "turtle"), forward - accelerating stage
(a "hare"). It is allowed hold the lever down gear in neutral (average non-fixed) position in
order to facilitate the engine start at low temperatures.
