4.7 Trailer brake drive

4.7.1 General information

Your tractor can be equipped with a double-wire or single-wire pneumatic drive for
trailer brakes or a hydraulic drive for trailer brakes. General information on double-wire
pneumatic drive for trailer brakes is given in subsection 4.7.2. General information on sin-
gle-wire pneumatic drive for trailer brakes is given in subsection 4.7.3. General information
on the hydraulic drive for trailer brakes configuration is given in subsection 4.7.4.
ATTENTION: ALL ADJUSTMENT OPERATIONS OF THE BRAKING SYSTEM
AND THE TRAILER BRAKES DRIVE AS WELL AS TROUBLESHOOTING SHALL BE
CARRIED OUT WITH THE ENGINE STOPPED AND THE TRACTOR IN A HORIZONTAL
POSITION, WHICH SHALL BE SECURED BY STOP BLOCKS PUT BEHIND THE
WHEELS AND PREVENTING THE TRACTOR FROM SELF-MOVEMENT!

4.7.2 Double-wire pneumatic drive for trailer brakes

Tractors "BELARUS-2022.6" in basic configuration are equipped with a double-wire
pneumatic drive providing brake control for trailers and agricultural machines, equipped
with a double-wire pneumatic brakes drive. Pneumatic drive is also used for tire inflation
and other purposes which require compressed air energy. The diagram for a double-wire
pneumatic drive is shown in figure 4.7.1.
Pneumatic drive has coupling heads 6, 7 (figure 4.7.1) of valve type. Valves of cou-
pling heads prevent air outlet when using a pneumatic drive without a trailer (for example,
during tire inflation) and at emergency separation of a trailer. When trailer brake lines con-
nect with tractor lines, valves of coupling head open letting compressed air go from tractor
pneumatic drive to the trailer. At this, coupling of pneumatic lines shall be carried out in the
absence of pressure in tractor tank 9.

sure sensor; 13 – sensor for emergency air pressure.
