7-22 Section 060-INDP-710 DMS-10 Switch Specific Data
>MSG nn DMSO (cr)
This command disengages the current DMS-10 response at the originating
terminal. Responses to BMC commands are not echoed at any terminal at
which the above command is entered, until that terminal is reactivated by
typing another BMC command. Thus, a DMS-10 terminal can be turned off
to BMC printout by entering the DMSO command, and switched back on to
receive BMC printout by using it to originate a BMC command.
Setting up DMS-10 Terminal Table for Logged BMC Messages
The BMC provides a program for setting up a table to allow logged BMC
messages, such as TEC TIME OUT, to be routed to up to six specified
DMS-10 printer terminals for output, using the DMST command. Refer to
the Command and Message Guide section for details on this command.
Personnel setting up this table should consult with the DMS-10 operator to
determine the terminal ID numbers, two digits, assigned to the terminals
currently used in the DMS-10 system. Record these two digit ID terminal
numbers, also noting the physical location of the respective terminals. Then,
determine which of these terminals, up to six, are to be used to provide logged
BMC message printouts.
Display the current table, showing the terminal numbers 1 through 6 and any
DMS-10 terminal IDs already assigned, by typing, on any DMS-10 terminal,
the following command:
>MSG nn DMST (cr)
The printout response of the table is:
1>aa 2>bb 3>cc 4>dd 5>ee 6>ff
where: aa-ff - two-digit DMS-10 terminal ID number (for a terminal ID
already assigned), or two spaces (for an unused number), depending on the
Nortel final test procedures.
Use the DMS-10 two digit terminal IDs already decided upon (as shown
above) for the aa through ff data in the following entries to assign or change
the current assignments in the table. At a DMS-10 terminal, enter the
following:
>MSG nn DMST 1 aa (cr)
297-6201-502 Standard 01.02 September 2000
Note: Multiple terminals can be assigned to display BMC messages.
However, the greater number of terminals assigned, the slower the system
response time.
