From J4, 60-pin ribbon cable header, on right rear of Interface Box, connect
ribbon cable to the J9 connector on the side panel of the B BMC chassis.
Remove and discard the screw to the left of the J9 connector. Attach the
terminal lug from the cable using the screw supplied with the cable. Be sure
the cable is installed with pin 1 toward the top of the connector. Refer to
Figure 8-5. The right J4 connector provides signal leads from the DMS-100
tape port 1 to the BMC J9 connector, which interfaces to the A13 and B13
DSI PCAs in the A and B chassis card racks.
Connecting DMS-100 Tape Port Cables to Interface Box
Locate the Read, Write, and Control cables from the DMS-100 whose other
ends terminate at the NT1X68 controllers.
Connect the Read, Write, and Control cables from the DMS-100 Input/Output
Controller (IOC) jack locations associated with tape port 0 to the connectors
on the left side of the Interface Box, J1 READ, J2 WRITE, and J3
CONTROL respectively. Refer to Figure 8-6.
Connect the Read, Write, and Control cables from the DMS-100 IOC jack
locations associated with tape port 1 to the connectors on the right side of the
Interface Box, J1 READ, J2 WRITE, and J3 CONTROL respectively. Refer
to Figure 8-6.
Ribbon Cable Signal Lead Identification
Within the Interface Box, the three data inputs (J1, J2, and J3) for each
interface are combined into a single 60-pin cable and fed to the J4 connectors.
The ribbon cables connected to the J4 connectors carry the data, control, and
status signals between the DMS-100 and the BMC DSI PCAs. For reference,
signal lines assigned to these 60 wire cables are listed in the pin connector
chart. Refer to Table 8-1.
