Error Map (ERRMAP) Command

For maintenance and/or service purposes, the user may override the existing
(System Default or Customer-Selected) alarm by assigning INHIBIT status to
a particular device or event. This is accomplished through the use of the
ERRMAP Command. This prevents subsequent alarm reporting (and
possible repetitive processor switches) while maintenance activity/
troubleshooting proceeds.
Inhibiting an alarm does not remove the cause of the alarm. The reason for
the alarm may still exist, but the alarm will not appear as an error condition on
the Status Panel or on the maintenance terminal (an alarm does not have to be
active to be inhibited).
A distinction is made between inhibiting an alarm and resetting an alarm.
Inhibiting an alarm prevents the alarm from having an effect on the System.
Resetting the alarm clears its active status until the appropriate error condition
reappears, at which time the alarm again becomes active.
The Error Map command displays a list of all alarms, their respective current
level assignments, and whether or not a particular alarm is currently active.
The Error Map command also permits the changing of alarm and level
assignments. Maintain a record of any changes. The following example
illustrates the ERRMAP command. Enter the following at the maintenance
terminal to display a list of alarms and level assignments:
>ERRMAP (cr)
