Emergency Download and Boot Software with Software Not Running

Append a new software file name, as observed in step 14, into the boot file BOOTFL.
Enter (at the terminal):
>DOS LA (cr)
prompt:
FILE> f (cr)
where: f = filename of new software.
prompt:
VER> v (cr)
where v = version number of new software.

Verify that the file has been appended in the BOOTFL. The file name just created should
be listed. If the file is not listed, or if other files are to be appended, go back to step 14.
Enter (at the terminal):
>DOS LL (cr)

"Boot-up" the new software in the Active Processor. This may take several minutes.
Several messages should appear. Enter (at the terminal):
>DOS LB (cr)

Observe the following message on the terminal:
S/W LOADED
Message indicates successful "Boot-up"; appears once for each file in the BOOTFL. If an
error message appears, refer to procedure for that message in this section.

Test if the new software is functional. Try a few commands on the Active Processor to
verify the software. This message displays the software and firmware version IDs on the
Active Processor. If the system does not respond as expected to the commands, do not
proceed, the software load may be faulty. Enter (at the terminal):
>VS (cr)
