System Operation Guide
The BMC is designed to be a fully-automatic device that provides storage of
call record data. The BMC acquires data from the Switching System through
a Magnetic Tape Port (MTP) and emulates all communication and control
signals expected by the Switching System. The BMC stores received data on
hard disk until the HOC requests the files be downloaded. Call record data
can be transferred to a HOC through either dedicated or dial-up lines. When
in communication with the HOC, the BMC is under functional control of the
HOC. The BMC gives priority to the acquisition of data from the Switching
System over polling of data to the HOC. The logical organization of data
flow is diagramed in Figure 5-1. Figure 5-2 is a block diagram of major
functional components.
