6-10 Section 060-INDP-610 Maintenance Procedures Guide
Routine Maintenance Procedures
This subsection contains the routine maintenance procedures for the BMC
system.
Status and Alarm Lamp Maintenance
The Status and Alarm Lamps, located on the Switch and Status Panel, are
tested periodically, using the Lamp Test (LT) rocker switch located on the
front of the panel. Refer to Figure 6-4. Open the front panel of the A chassis;
refer to Figure 6-5. Press the spring-loaded switch to the LT position, and all
lamps light. The lamp(s) indicating the current operating status of the BMC
stay lit when the switch is released.
The lamps used for the status and alarm indicators are special light bar devices,
composed of four LEDs in each lamp. The LEDs in the lamp are individually
powered; if one quadrant fails, the remaining quadrants continue to operate,
keeping the indicator lit. The solid state lamps provide long trouble-free oper-
ation. Replacement status and alarm lamps should be ordered through Nortel.
Refer to Table 6-2 for more information.
