8.Save the DMS-10 password and terminal settings by entering the following:

Functional Testing of SDI Interface Communications
Start the functional testing procedure with the BMC system rocker switches
set to the A PRIME mode. Turn the key switch. Refer to the LOGIN
command entry in the Command and Message Guide section to gain entry to
the BMC. Refer to the SETTERM entry to temporarily disable the auto log-
off function on the BMC. Enter on any DMS-10 system terminal the
SETCLK command, preceded by the BMC - DMS-10 prefix, MSG nn, as
shown:
>MSG nn SETCLK 97 07 10 13 25 00 TUE (cr)
The DMS-10 routes this typed command to the BMC through the SDI port
(nn). The BMC records the location of the DMS-10 terminal originating the
command. After the data is processed, the BMC sends the reply back through
the SDI port (nn) within the DMS-10, including the address of the originating
terminal. The DMS-10 routes the reply message to the original DMS-10
terminal, which prints an appropriate log message such as:
MSG FROM TTY nn 97-07-10 13:25:00 TUE PROC-A.
where: nn - terminal number of the BMC SDI port.
This message may be delayed for several seconds depending upon other
DMS-10 activities.
The originating terminal is now active to the reception of BMC output and
continues to print out all BMC data, whether wanted or not, unless a
command is sent to instruct the BMC to discontinue sending responses to this
active terminal. At the originating DMS-10 system terminal, enter the
following:
BMC II BISYNC Operation, Administration, and Maintenance Guide BMCB001 and up
Section 060-INDP-710 DMS-10 Switch Specific Data 7-21
Note: Up to six maintenance terminals can view BMC messages. When
displaying multiple lines of text, response time is slowed. The more
terminals assigned with this command, the slower the response time.
Note: The BMC also sends replies to other terminals, as defined by the
DMST key command. TTY0 indicates the default terminal. Multiple
terminals can be assigned. However, the greater the number of terminals,
the slower the system response time.
