Polling Diagnostic

Switch processors and see if the problem remains the same. If there are no alarms on the
BMC, enter the following command to switch the processor:
>SWACT (cr)
System responds with messages indicating the processor switch. If the data center can
poll from the other shelf, refer to the procedure in the 56K Interface PCA Diagnostic
Procedure subsection to troubleshoot the shelf problem.
If polling still fails on both shelves with no messages, continue with step 5.

Enter the following command to verify that the modem baud rate in the BMC matches the
modem baud rate:
>BAUD (cr)
If the baud rate is wrong, enter the following command with the correct value:
>BAUD x yyyy (cr)
where:
x- 1 or 2
yyyy- 1200, 2400, 4800, or 9600
System response: FOR LINK #x BAUD RATE = yyyy
Enter the following command to verify the CP interface setting:
>CP INTERFACE (cr)
The CP Interface should be set to RS232.
Note: It is possible to use the V.35 interface to communicate with the HOC. However, BMC
software limits the baud rate to a maximum of 9600.
