7-6 Section 060-INDP-710 DMS-10 Switch Specific Data
1.The circuitry in the NT3T11 pack is static-sensitive. Observe all
precautions as relates to static-sensitive materials.
2.Remove the five Phillips-head screws from the front panel of the Interface
Box and set aside. Refer to Figure 7-4.
3.Inside the enclosure, locate the two white guide rails, noting the notches on
the inner side of the rails. Check inside the Interface Box, moving any wire
harnesses or other obstacles out of the way for insertion of the PCA.
4.Position the NT3T11 PCA with the component side up and the edge
connector of the board pointing toward the rear of the enclosure.
5.Connector-edge first, insert the side edges of the NT3T11 PCA into the
guide rail notches, sliding the PCA to the rear as far as possible. Press
simultaneously on both ends of the front edge of the PCA until the rear
connectors can be felt to mate with the connectors in the enclosure. Make sure
that the PCA is straight in the guide rails and firmly seated, since
misalignment of connectors can cause intermittent circuits, and damage to the
pins of the Interface Box connector.
6.Re-fasten the front panel onto the Interface Box with the five screws
previously removed.
Installing the NT3T11 Interface Boxes
The NT3T11 Interface Boxes are shipped without the mounting brackets
installed. The mounting brackets are included separately in the packing
carton. Assemble the mounting brackets to the holes provided in the sides of
the boxes, using the four mounting screws furnished with each unit. Refer to
Figure 7-5. In the normal configuration, both NT3T11 Interface Boxes are
installed on the same frame as the BMC; one directly above and one directly
below. The Interface Box is mounted with the connector panel located at the
rear.
Interface Box Connectors
The rear panel of the NT3T11 Interface Box provides the connections to the
BMC chassis (J17) and to the DMS-10. Refer to Figure 7-6.
The four-screw terminal board at the right is used to connect +12 Vdc from
the BMC chassis to power the NT3T11 circuitry. The center 60-pin ribbon
cable header, labeled J1, provides the data interface to the BMC system. The
72-pin connector at left, labeled NT3T12 CABLE, is used to connect existing
cables from the DMS-10 tape ports, MTP 0 and MTP 1.
