GENERAL DESCRIPTION
This service feature sends a HOWLER TONE to a station which is left off-hook for a specified period
of time. The HOWLER TONE is applied and the station is released ("locked out") from service.
Placing a "locked-out" station's handset on-hook for two seconds will restore service to the station.
STATION APPLICATION
All stations
OPERATING PROCEDURE
The HOWLER TONE is sent under the following conditions:
1. Station user goes off hook; receives Dial Tone.
2. If dialing is not initiated after approximately 12 seconds, Reorder Tone is applied.
3. After 30 seconds of Reorder Tone, the station receives no tone.
4. After 30 seconds of no tone, the station receives HOWLER TONE.
5. Upon going on-hook, the station is released from the HOWLER TONE receiving state and service
returns to normal.
SERVICE CONDITIONS
1. HOWLER TONE is repeated at intervals of 30 seconds on and 30 seconds off.
2. The HOWLER TONE is specified as follows:

3. A louder than normal distinctive tone ("HOWLER") may be sent to the off-hook station before it is
released.
4. This feature is allowed or denied on a per station basis.
