BITEWING IMAGING:
• The patient's occlusal plane should be horizontal and parallel to the Frankfort-
Horizontal light.
TMJ IMAGING:
• The patient's Frankfort-Horizontal plane should be close to parallel to the
horizontal light. The Frankfort-Horizontal light indicates the center of the field. You
can take a TMJ image with the patient's mouth closed or open.
13. Check that the patient's head is straight and not rotated and the patient's midline
coincides with the midsagittal light.
14. Release the head support and press it against the patient's forehead. Adjust the head
support height if needed.
