Configuring network interfaces

Show and update the IPv6 source IP address policy table

The IPv6 address policy table defines the IPv6 source IP address to use on outgoing packets
generated by the device. It allows you to select the best type of IP address (such as global, link local,
and so on) for a particular type of connection. In most cases, the default values set in this table are
sufficient and do not need to be changed. For more information about the IPv6 source IP address
policy table, see the IETF document RFC6724, Default Address Selection for Internet Protocol Version 6
(IPv6).
Normally the default values that exist in this table do not need to be changed.

Go to Configuration > Network > Interfaces > IPv6 > IPv6 Source IP Address Selection Policy.
Add an entry in the table
1. Enter the IPv6 address prefix in the IPv6 Prefix field.
2. Enter a label for the IPv6 prefix in the Label field.
3. Click Add.
Delete an entry in the table
In the entry for the IPv6 prefix, click Delete.

2. (Optional) To modify the IPv6 source address selection policy table, use the ipv6ippolicy
command, specifying these parameters:
prefix: The IPv6 prefix. The default depends on the instance. Destination IPv6

addresses are matched against the prefixes to find the entry with matching label.
label: The label associated with the prefix configured into the same instance.

3. If you changed the policy table, save your configuration changes.
