Error Test
Code Result Description / Recommendation
256, FAIL The active IPSI circuit pack's Packet Interface circuit has an error counter set.
512, The following error codes are possible: 256 (parity error), 512 (FIFO
768 overflow), 768 (parity error and FIFO overflow error).
1. If error code 256 or 768 is reported, the IPSI's Packet Interface circuit
2. If error code 512 or 768 is reported for an active IPSI's Packet Interface
3. If error code 512 or 768 is reported for a standby IPSI's Packet Interface

received a parity error off the packet bus.
a. Check for alarms logged against the packet bus. See
(Packet Bus)'' on page 8-918
b. Check for alarms and errors logged against other circuit packs
connected to the EPN's packet bus. A list of packet circuit packs is
presented in the first section of this repair procedure. Refer to the
repair procedures for those circuit packs, in this manual, to clear those
errors first.
c. If this is a high-reliability system and if the Packet Interface circuit is on
the standby IPSI, replace the circuit pack.
d. If this is a high-reliability system and if the Packet Interface circuit is on
the active IPSI, enter set ipserver interface to perform a planned IPSI
interchange. Replace the standby IPSI circuit pack.
circuit, the receive FIFO in the PKT-INT has overflowed. This may
indicate that additional IPSI circuit packs are required.
For the current hardware configuration, only one IPSI circuit pack is
allowed per EPN. Escalate the problem if not corrected by the following
repair step. Retry the command after one minute if the test continues to
fail.
a. If the Packet Interface circuit is on the active IPSI, enter set
ipserver-interface to perform a planned IPSI interchange. Replace
the standby IPSI circuit pack.
