2.4 Cab heater and fan control

Cab heater and fan controls are shown in Figure 2.4.1.
1 – heater valve knob; 2 – hose; 3 – clamp; 4 – fitting; 5 – deflectors; 6 – recirculation shut-
ter; 7 – cab fan switch.
Cab heater and fan can operate in two modes: heating and ventilation.
In order to actuate heater and fan in the heating mode, it is necessary to perform the
following:
- start the engine and let it operate at medium rpm for warming-up coolant up to the
temperature from + 70
1 (fig. 2.4.1) counterclockwise against the stop.
-check and, if necessary, refill the expansion tank with coolant to the upper edge of
the expansion tank fastening clamp;
- switch on the heater fan with the help of switch 7. Within 1-5 minutes warm air starts
filling the cab, which demonstrates heating system integrity;
-direct the air flow in the right direction with the help of deflectors 5;
- the volume of air ventilated into the cab can be controlled by opening recirculation
shutters 6.
To drain coolant from the heating system proceed as follows:
- open the heater valve;
- disconnect hoses 2 with fittings 4 from the liquid tank of SCR system, having pre-
viously removed fitting 4 detent aside;
- drain the coolant into a special container;
- bleed the system with compressed air;
- connect hoses 2 with fittings to the liquid tank of SCR system and secure detents
of fittings 4.
Coolant draining from the heating system shall only be performed by the dealer, as
the operation requires dismantling / installation of certain elements of the SCR system.
ATTENTION: WHEN THE CAB HEATER AND FAN ARE ON IN THE HEATING
MODE, CAB VENTILATION IS CARRIED OUT AT THE SAME TIME. TO OPERATE THE
CAB HEATER AND FAN IN VENTILATING MODE ONLY (DURING A WARM SEASON)
THE HEATER'S VALVE SHALL BE CLOSED!
Instead of the cab heater and fan the tractor can be equipped with an air conditioner.
Air conditioner control rules are given below.
