6-1 Preparation
1. Use adhesive tape (or similar) (1) to attach the Radiation Protection Plate (2) to the bottom side of
the Standard 19 x 23 Compression Paddle as shown below.
Note:
Ensure the adhesive tape is attached in such a way that when it is removed, it will not leave glue
residue on the Compression Paddle.
! Notice:
The Radiation Protection Plate will protect the detector from excessive exposure to X-rays. Before
proceeding to make exposures, ensure that the detector has been protected from excessive X–ray
doses as instructed above.
2. Remove the Bucky, and install the Detector Protection Plate (3) on the detector.
3. Install the Standard 19 x 23 Compression Paddle updside down, so that the Radiation Protection
Plate is approximately below the bottom of the Tube Head as follows:
• 205 mm (8.07 inches) for the RMI 232 kVp meter and Keithley 35080B kVp meter
• 155 mm (6.10 inches) for the Radcal 4083 kVp meter
205 mm for RMI 232 and Keithley 35080B
155 mm for Radcal 4083
