REMOVE ASH RECEPTACLE RETAINER
(See steps 1 and 2 on page EG—225)
DISCONNECT FUEL PUMP CONNECTOR
INSPECT FUEL PUMP
Inspect fuel pump resistance
Using an ohmmeter, measure the resistance between
the terminals.
Resistance:
0.2 — 3.0 Q at 20°C (68° F)
If the resistance is not as specified, replace the fuel
pump.
Inspect fuel pump operation
Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to
terminal 1 of the connector, and the negative (—) lead
to terminal 2. Check that the fuel pump operates.
If operation is not as specified, replace the fuel pump.
NOTICE:
I These tests must be performed quickly (within 10
seconds) to prevent thecoil from burning out.
I Keep the fuel pump as far away from the battery as
possible.
O Always perform switching at the battery side.
RECONNECT FUEL PUMP CONNECTOR
