AIR BAG AND PRETENSIONERS
Passenger's frontal airbag: Removal - Refitting
II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
a Remove:
- the passenger front airbag nuts (1) ,
- the passenger front airbag bolts (2) ,
- the passenger front airbag.
IMPORTANT
T o prevent the any component from being thrown
upwards, store the airbag with the inflatable
cushion facing upwards.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING PREPARATION OPERATION
a
IMPORTANT
After a seat belt pyrotechnic component is trig-
gered, it is essential to replace certain parts (see
88C, Air bag and Pretensioners, Airbag and
pretensioners: Precautions for the repair,
page 88C-7) .
IMPORTANT
When the passenger front airbag is triggered, the
consequent damage caused to the mountings
always requires the dashboard to be replaced.
Affix the label warning against fitting a rear-facing
child seat on the front passenger seat to the pas-
senger side of the dashboard.
a Always replace the passenger front airbag bolts.

II - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
a Refit:
- the passenger front airbag,
- new passenger front airbag bolts,
- the passenger front airbag nuts.
a Torque tighten the passenger front airbag bolts
on the dashboard (4 N.m).
III - FINAL OPERATION
a Refit the dashboard (see Dashboard: Removal -
Refitting) (57A, Interior equipment).
a Torque tighten the passenger front airbag bolts
on the dashboard cross member (4 N.m).
a Refit the centre console (see Centre console: Re-
moval - Refitting) (57A, Interior equipment).
RADIO NO. 03
a Refit:
- the receiver (see 86A, Radio, Receiver: Removal
- Refitting, page 86A-10) ,
- the central speaker (see 8 6 A , Radio, Centre
speaker: Removal - Refitting, page 86A-21) .
