Upgrade the IP Phone firmware
When the IP Line loadware has been upgraded on the Signaling Server,
determine if an IP Phone firmware upgrade is also required. If an upgrade is
required, the Signaling Server must be upgraded to the newest IP Phone
firmware version.
A firmware download does not occur with IP Phones performing a Virtual Office
logon or Media Gateway 1000B (MG 1000B) logon to a remote system. No
firmware upgrade takes place during a Virtual Office logon or MG 1000B user
registration with the LTPS. The registration is allowed because the IP Phone
firmware version must be 1.33 or later to perform a Virtual Office logon or MG
1000B user registration.
The umsUpgradeAll command has no impact on Virtual Office logon IP
Phones. These IP Phones are not reset. If the Virtual Office logon is on the
same Call Server, then the IP Phone firmware is upgraded after the user
logs out. If the Virtual Office logon is between different Call Servers, then
the IP Phone just registers back to its home LTPS and follows the normal
firmware rules for regular registration.
When the umsUpgradeAll command is executed, MG 1000B user IP
Phones that are on active calls are flagged. After the IP Phones become
idle, the IP Phones are switched by the Call Server back to the MG 1000B
for the firmware upgrade.
