FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
1 . CHECK INPUT SIGNAL FOR ECU .
1) Turn ignition switch to "OFF" .
2) Disconnect ECU connectors .
3) Check input signal for ECU from crank angle sensor
2 .
Using oscilloscope
(1) Set the positive (+) probe at (1348) terminal No . 8,
and set earth lead at (1348) terminal No . 9.
(2) Cranking the engine, and check wave profile.

Using voltage meter
Check if voltage varies synchronously with engine
revolution when cranking, while monitoring voltage
between ECU connector terminal .

(1359) No . 8 - No . 9/AC 0.1 V, min.
2. CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR BETWEEN
ECU AND CRANK ANGLE SENSOR 2.
1) Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
2) Remove alternator .
3) Disconnect connector from ECU and crank angle
sensor 2.
4) Measure resistance of harness connector between
ECU and crank angle sensor 2.

(1359) No. 8 - (E22) No . 2/0 C1
(1359) No. 9 - (E22) No . 1/0 i2
5) Measure resistance between ECU connector and
body to check short circuit .

(1359) No . 9 - Body/1 Mid min.
(1359) No . 10 - Body/1 MQ min.

3 . CHECK CRANK ANGLE SENSOR 2.
1) Remove crank angle sensor 2.
2) Set the positive (+ ) probe at sensor connector
terminal No . 1, and set earth lead at terminal No . 2.
3) Check a wave profile appears when crossing a mag-
net near the pick-up coil of crank angle sensor 2 .

crank angle sensor-2 circuit is open.
