FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM
1 . CHECK INPUT SIGNAL FOR ECU .
1) Turn ignition switch to "OFF" .
2) Disconnect ECU connectors .
3) Check input signal for ECU from cam angle sensor .
Using oscilloscope
(1) Set the positive (+ ) probe at (1359) terminal No . 7,
and set earth lead at (1362) terminal No. 9.
(2) Cranking the engine, and check wave profile .
3) Measure resistance of harness connector between
ECU and cam angle sensor .
Connector Fr Terminal/Specified resistance
(1359) No . 7 - (E23) No . 1/0 f2
(1359) No. 9 - (E23) No . 2/0 .0
5) Measure resistance between ECU connector and
body to check short circuit.

Using voltage meter
Check if voltage varies synchronously with engine
revolution when cranking, while monitoring voltage
between ECU connector terminal .
Connector & Terminal/Specified voltage
(1348) No. 7 - No. 9/AC 0.1 V, min.
2. CHECK HARNESS CONNECTOR BETWEEN
ECU AND CAM ANGLE SENSOR .
1) Turn ignition switch to "OFF".
2) Disconnect connector from ECU and
sensor.
3. CHECK CAM ANGLE SENSOR.
1) Remove cam angle sensor .
2) Set the positive (+ ) probe of oscilloscope at sensor
connector terminal No . 1, and set earth lead at terminal
No . 2.
3) Check a wave profile appears when making crossing
a magnet near the pick-up coil of cam angle sensor .

cam angle sensor ground circuit is open .
