Stop lamp switch is not smooth and/or stroke is not correct.

Insufficient pedal play
Adjust pedal play.
Brake pedal freeplay insufficient
Adjust pedal freeplay .
M aladjustment of brake pedal or booster push rod
Inspect and adjust.
Excessively worn and damaged pedal shaft and/or bushing
I Replace bushing and/or shaft with new one .
