4-3 [T4B1) STEERING SYSTEM
1. CHECK D-CHECK AND READ-MEMORY HAR-
NESSES
1) Turn ignition switch "OFF ."
2) Disconnect ECU from connector.
3) Check continuity between ECU and connector-(34)
terminals, and ECU and connector-(B36) terminals.
Read memory Between (1353) © -(836)

Specified resistance:
(1353) No . 13 - Body/1 Q max.

4) Check connector-(B53) terminal and GND .
Connector & Terminal/Specified resistance :
(1353) No. 13 - Body/1 Q max .
2. CHECK WARNING LAMP SYSTEM
1) Disconnect connector (i1). Turn ignition switch
"ON ."
2) Measure voltage across connector-(1340) terminal
and GND.
O .K . - Go to (3) .
NOT O .K. -> Open circuit between connector (1340)
and ECU terminals
3) Turn ignition switch "OFF ."
4) Remove steering warning lamp (including combina-
tion meter).
5) Apply a voltage of 12 volts across warning lamp
terminals to make sure it illuminates .
O .K. -> Go to (6) .
NOT OX - Faulty lamp
6) Disconnect connectors (i6) and (i7) .
7) Check continuity between connector-(i1) and
connector-(i7) terminals .
Connector £r Terminal/Specified resistance :
(Pi1) No. 18 - (Pi7) No. 91/1 f; max.
