5.14.6 Powering Up

The following procedure should be followed before applying mains power:
1. Check that the front panel circuit breaker is in the OFF (O) position.
2. Verify that the model nameplate AC input specification match the local utility
power.
3. Make sure that nothing is connected to any of the OUTPUT terminals on the rear
panel.
4. Connect the correct AC mains line to the AFX Series® AC input terminal using a
suitable three phase AC mains disconnect switch.
5. Close the AC mains disconnect to apply utility power.
6. Turn on the front panel circuit breaker by pulling the lever upward to the "I"
position.
Note: Allow about 3 to 5 seconds for the AFX unit to fully initialize.
7. If the instrument does not turn on for some reason, turn OFF the front panel circuit
breaker and verify the presence of the correct AC line input voltage using
appropriate safety measures.
Note: For information on turning on AFX cabinet systems, refer to Section 5.16, "AFX
Cabinet Systems Turn ON and Turn OFF Procedures" instead.

5.14.7 In Case of Malfunction

In the unlikely event of an instrument malfunction or if the instrument does not turn on
despite the presence of the correct AC line voltage, please attach a warning tag to the
