Replacing a Pump

IMPORTANT The EASY-nLC 1200 is not compatible with the pumps from the
EASY-nLC II and EASY-nLC 1000. Equally these earlier pumps are not compatible with
the EASY-nLC 1200.
CAUTION Wear powder-free gloves and safety glasses when handling parts of the LC system
that come into contact with solvents.
Replacing a pump requires these tools and materials:
Tools
• #2 Phillips screwdriver
• 2.5 mm hex wrench
• 3 mm hex wrench
• Small flathead screwdriver
• Pipette for priming the pump
To replace a pump in the EASY-nLC instrument, follow these procedures:
1.
"To remove a pump from an EASY-nLC instrument,"

"To install a pump in an EASY-nLC instrument"
❖ To remove a pump from an EASY-nLC instrument
1. Empty the pump of solvent by setting the valve to position 1-2 and using manual control.
2. Set the valve for the pump to the Center position as follows:
Switch the valve for the pump concerned to Center:
a. Press Home > Overview.
b. Press the appropriate valve icon.
c. In the Valve dialog box, press Center.
Placing the valve in the Center position shuts off the solvent flow to the subsystem.
3. Close down and then turn off the EASY-nLC instrument.
4. Disconnect the power cable from the instrument's back panel.
