❖ To locate the source of the blockage when the Test Solvent A test fails
1. To determine if valve W is blocked, do the following:
a. Make sure that the Precolumn Equilibration script is set up and running as described
in
step 1
on
page 210
with a union.
b. Disconnect the Waste In line from port 2 of valve W (see
c. Depending on the backpressure, do one of the following:
• If the pressure is below the threshold, valve W is blocked. Please contact the
product support.
• If the pressure is above the threshold reconnect the Waste In line, go to
2. To determine if the Waste In line is blocked, do the following:
a. Disconnect the Column Out line and the Waste In line from the union.
Column Out line
b. Depending on the backpressure, do one of the following:
• If the pressure is below the threshold of 125 bar, the Waste In line is blocked.
Discontinue this troubleshooting procedure and replace the Waste In line with a
new line.
• If the pressure is above the threshold of 125 bar, go to
3. To determine if the Column Out line is blocked, do the following:
a. Disconnect the Column Out line from port 3 of valve S.
b. Depending on the backpressure, do one of the following:
• If pressure is below the threshold of 90 bar, the Column Out line is blocked.
Discontinue this troubleshooting procedure and replace the Column Out line
with a new line.
• If the pressure is above the threshold of 90 bar, reconnect the Column Out line,
and go to
step
