Diagnostic Procedure 39
CHECK OUTPUT SIGNAL
CIRCUIT.
1) Reconnect radiator fan
relay- l and -2, radiator
fan motor- l harness
connector and radiator
fan motor-2 harness
connector.
2) Start Engine.
3) Turn radiator fan OFF
in "ACTIVE TEST"
mode with CONSULT.
4) Check voltage between
relay 1 terminal 1 and
relay 2 terminal
2
and
ground.
Voltage:
8
Battery voltage
5) Turn radiator fans HI in
"ACTIVE TEST" mode
with CONSULT.
6)
Check voltage between
relay 1 terminal 1 and
relay
2
terminal
8
2
and
ground.
Voltage:
Approximately OV.
1) Turn ignition switch
@
"OFF".
2) Disconnect E.C.U.
harness connector.
3) Check harness
continuity between
E.C.U. terminal

with
relay 1 terminal 1 and
E.C.U. terminal
@
with relay 2

terminal
@

Continuity should
exist

4) Reconnect all
components.
5) Disconnect water
temperature sensor.
6) Start engine.
7)
Check voltage between
relay 1 terminal
@
and
relay 2 terminal
@
with ground.
Voltage:
Approximately OV.
If N.G. check E.C.U.
N.G.
(Cont'd)
Check the following:
Harness connectors
Harness continuity between
E.C.U. and radiator fan
relays 1 and 2.
If N.G., repair harness or con-
nectors.
CHECK COMPONENTS
(Radiator fan relay-l and
-2).
Perform "RADIATOR FAN
TEST" in "ACTIVE TEST"
mode with CONSULT.
If N.G., replace malfunctioning
component(s).
