Disconnect fuel return line hose from
lines between h e l tank and
fuel rail for restrictions.
This includes:

Tank flexible hoses to vehicle

steel lines.

Steel lines under vehicle.

Flexible hoses between steel
lines and filter andlor fuel rail.

Not Ok
Repair, then
recheck
All Ok
Replace fuel
filter, then
"Return" fuel pipe next to fuel rail.
Attach a piece of fuel hose to the "Return"
fuel pipe. Insert other end of hose into an
ao~roved aasoline container.

Apply
+l2
volts to fuel pump (Bridge Relay)
and note fuel pressure.
Pressure still
Pressure now

Locate and correct
restricted fuel
regulator.

Pinch shut the fuel return hose connecting to the "Return"
fuel pipe behind fuel rail.

Apply

volts to fuel pump (Bridge Relay) and note fuel pressure.

Replace pressure regulator
and recheck pressure. If still
low, replace in-tank fuel
strainer.
Replace fuel pump
and return to
step
on previous
page.
