Pull the center d istributor duct to the right and remove it
from the vehicle.
7.
T o install, reverse Steps 1-6 above.
N O T E :
Check cable and door operation; cables
should be free fro m kinks or binding and doors
should close properly. If cable adjustment is nec­
essary, see "Bowden Cable—A djustm ent."
LEFT DISTRIBUTO R DUCT
Replacement (Fig. 6)
1.
D isconnect the b attery ground cable.
2.
U nsnap the engine cover fro n t latches. Rem ove the tw o
cover to floorpan screws and remove the cover.
3.
Rem ove th e duct bracket screw and remove the duct.
4.
T o install, reverse Steps 1 -3.
N O T E :
A ll three bowden cables are routed under
the duct. It may be necessary to hold the cables
down as the duct is being installed. Be sure the left
duct is fu lly installed over the center duct.

DEFROSTER OUTLETS AND HOSES

Replacement (Fig. 7)
1.
D isconnect the b attery ground cable.
2.
U nsnap the engine cover fro n t latches. Remove the two
cover to floorpan screws and remove the cover.

D isconnect the defroster hose at b o th the center distribu­
to r duct and instrum ent panel o u tlet and remove the
hose.
If the instrum ent panel outlets m ust be rem oved, reach
u nder the in stru m en t panel and squeeze the o u tlet tabs
inw ard while pushing up. Remove the outlets from the
in stru m en t panel.
I f the outlets were rem oved, snap them in position in the
instrum ent panel.
Reinstall the defroster hoses following Steps 1-3 in
reverse order.
