Double Groove Pulley
1. Place a 1 5 /16" socket (w ith w rench flats on th e drive end
or use A dapter J-21501 and a box w rench) on retaining
nu t, insert a 5 /1 6 " alien w rench through socket and
adapter in to hex on shaft to hold the shaft while
removing th e nut.
2. Remove w asher and slide pulley fan and spacer from
shaft.
3. To install, slide fan, spacer, pulley and washer on shaft
and start th e nut.
4. Use th e socket and adapter w ith a to rq u e w rench and
tighten n u t to 50 ft. lbs. torque.
GENERATOR REPLACEMENT (FIG. I2C)
1. Disconnect b attery ground strap at b attery to prevent
damaging wiring harnesses.
2. D isconnect wiring leads at D elcotron.
3. Remove generator brace b olt and detach drive belt.

4. S upport generator an d remove generator m o u n t b o lt and
remove from vehicle.
5. Reverse removal procedure to install, then adjust drive
belt as described under tune-up section.
DOUBLE CONTACT REGULATOR
N O T E :
be cleaned as they are made o f special material that
may be destroyed by cleaning w ith any abrasive
material. A sooty or discolored condition of the
contacts is normal after a relatively short period of
operation.
Removal and Installation
To remove th e regulator assembly, disconnect the b attery
ground cable and the wiring harness connector at the regula­
to r, th en remove th e screws securing the regulator to the
vehicle.

Voltage regulating contacts should never
