E NG INE FUEL 6M-8
IN S TA LLA TIO N
1. Be certain th ro ttle body and intake m anifold sealing
surface are clean.
2. Install new carburetor to m anifold flange gasket or
insulator (as required).
3. Install carburetor over m anifold studs or holes.
4. S tart vacuum and fuel lines at carburetor.
5. Install attaching nuts and /o r bolts and tighten securely.
6
. T ighten fuel lines and install vacuum lines securely.
7. Connect and adjust accelerator and TV linkage.

. C onnect C.E.C. Valve (L-
vacuum lines.
9. C onnect idle stop wiring connector to solenoid.
10. Connect choke coil rod.
11. Install air cleaner, adjust curb idle and low idle speeds per
decal. (See specifications for C.E.C. valve adjustm ent,
id le s to p so len o id
adjustm ent; also, " A dditional external settings and
adjustm ents." )
FUEL FILTE R M AINTENANCE
1. D isconnect fuel line connection at inlet fuel filter nut.
2. Remove inlet fuel filter n u t from carburetor w ith a box
w rench or socket.
3. Rem ove filter elem ent and spring (Fig. K4).
4. Check paper elem ent by blow ing on fuel inlet end. If
filter does n o t allow air to pass freely, replace elem ent.
No attem p t should be made to clean filters.
N O T E : Elem ent should be replaced if plugged or if
flooding occurs. A plugged filte r w ill result in a loss
of engine power or rough (pulsating) engine feel,
especially at high engine speeds.
5. Install elem ent spring, and install elem ent in carburetor.
Bronze filters m ust have small section o f cone facing o u t.

. Install new gasket on inlet fitting n u t and install n u t in
carburetor and tighten securely.
7. Install fuel line and tighten connector.
