connect fro n t brake pipe at equalizer tee and connect
rear brake pipe at left fram e rail connector.
12. Install cross shaft and connect clutch linkage and/or
transm ission linkage as outlined in Section 7.
13. C onnect the following item s:
• Fuel line (from tank) at fuel pum p.
• Engine ground strap(s).
• Steering idler arm at fram e.
• Steering pitm an arm at steering gear—to rq u e n u t to
specifications.
• Stabilizer shaft a t fram e brackets.
• B attery positive cable at starter.
• Shock absorbers at lower con tro l arm.
• Speedom eter cable at transm ission.
• TCS sw itch at transm ission— install TCS wire to clip
at transm ission/clutch housing.
• E xhaust crossover a t m uffler and a t manifolds.
14. Low er vehicle on hoist.
15. C onnect pow er brake vacuum hose at tube-to-hose
junction .
16. C onnect E vaporation C ontrol System lines at rocker arm
cover and carburetor.
17. C onnect TCS system electrical leads at valve an d at
tem perature sw itch— position harness in rocker arm cover
clips.
18. Install D elcotron and supp ort assembly.
19. C onnect accelerator linkage at dash m ounted bell crank.
20. Install carb ureto r air cleaner and oil filler tu b e — connect
oil pressure gauge line if so equipped.
21. C onnect engine wiring harness at dash panel ju n ctio n
block.
22. Install radiator and fan shroud, connect rad iator and
heater hoses, install autom atic transm ission cooler lines
and fill cooling system .
23. Install engine cover.
24. C onnect b attery ground cable at engine block and at
b attery .
25. Bleed fro n t and rear brakes as outlined in Section 5.
26. S tart engine, check an d add engine coolant as required
and check engine for p roper operation.

INTAKE M A N IFO LD
Removal
1. Drain radiator and remove air cleaner.
2. D isconnect:
• B attery cables at battery .
• U pper radiator hose and heater hose a t m anifold.
• A ccelerator linkage at pedal lever.
• Fuel line at carburetor.
• Crankcase ventilation lines (as required).
• S park advance hose at distributor.
3. Rem ove distributor cap and m ark ro to r position w ith
chalk, th e n remove distributor.
4. Rem ove (as required) oil filler bracket, air cleaner
bracket, coil, accelerator retu rn spring and b racket, and
accelerator bellcrank.
5. Remove m anifold attaching bolts, then remove m anifold
and carbu reto r as an assembly. Discard gaskets and seals.

. If m anifold is to be replaced, transfer:
• C arburetor and carb uretor m ounting studs.
• Oil pressure sending unit.
• W ater o u tle t and th erm ostat (use new gasket).
Installation
1. Clean gasket and seal surfaces on m anifold, block, and
cylinder heads.
2. Install m anifold seals on block and gaskets on cylinder
heads (Fig. 7V ). Use sealer at w ater passages and where
seals b u tt to gaskets.
3. Install m anifold and to rqu e bolts to specifications in the
sequence o utlin ed on th e torq ue sequence chart.
