Ignition Switch Replacement
(Fig. 10)
1. Raise hood and disconnect ground cable from battery.
2. Rem ove lock cylinder by positioning sw itch in" ACC"
position and inserting stiff wire in small hole in cylinder
face. Push in on wire to depress plunger and continue to
tu rn key counter-clockw ise until lock cylinder can be
removed.
3. Rem ove the m etallic ignition n u t switch.
4. Pull the ignition sw itch o u t from behind the instrum ent
panel and remove th e " th e ft resistant connector. Use a
screwdriver to unsnap the locking tangs on the connector
from their position on the switch.
5. Snap the co nn ector in to place on a new ignition switch.

. Place the sw itch in to position from behind the instru­
m en t panel, first adding grounding ring th en install the
ignition sw itch nut.
7. Install the lock cylinder, key inserted.

. Install ground cable on b attery and close hood.
INSTRUM ENT CLUSTER REPLACEMENT
(Fig. 11)
1. O pen hood and remove ground cable from battery.
2. Standing outside vehicle reach up under instrum ent
cluster and disconnect speedom eter cable by first depres­
sing tang on rear o f speedom eter head, pushing then
pulling cable free from head as tang is depressed.
3. Unplug instrum ent panel harness connector from prin ted
circuit.
4. D isconnect oil pressure line from gauge if so equipped.
5. Remove (2 ) tw o n u ts attaching instrum ent cluster studs
to lower opening in instrum ent panel.

. Pull top o f cluster away from instrum ent panel and lift
o ut bo tto m o f cluster.
7. Remove cluster to bench for further disassembly (lam i­
nated printed circuit, speedom eter head, gauges).

REPLACEMENT (Fig. 11)
1. Reach up under in stru m en t panel and tu rn bulb holder
2. Pull bulb straight o u t to remove from holder.
3. Install replacem ent bulb in holder, press inward to lock in

circuit and must be reinstalled to provide the proper
