2 Access Controls

2.1 Introduction

Access Controls using EA3 requires logging in to the system and logging out when you are
done scanning for a period of time. If you do not log out, the system will log you out and you will
need to log back in.
Access Controls using EA3 contains the following user permissions after logging in:
GE Service – Can perform all functions
Administrator – Can set up, add or delete users
Standard User – Can perform scanning functions and modify protocols
Limited User – Can perform all scanning functions
NOTE:
Emergency User login has Limited User permissions.
When adding users to local databases certain rules apply.
You must use the following guidelines:
Users/Groups:
Lower case letters and numbers only
Cannot start with a number
No limit on length
Passwords:
Must be at least one character long; no null characters
Can contain uppercase letters, numbers and special characters
Access Controls is an option that can be enabled or disabled by GE Service by reconfiguring
your system.

2.2 Users and groups

Every person with system permissions is a user. Users are set up by administrators.
Administrators may be IT personnel in an enterprise environment, or a site manager or lead
technologist in a standalone environment. Administrators add new users and assigns users to
groups, which determines system access levels and privileges. For example, a person named
Sue Smith could belong to a group called technologists, radiologists, administrators, or any
combination.

2.3 Groups and privileges

The group to which a person belongs has certain privileges. If you do not have an enterprise
system, the assignment of group privileges is probably limited to those who have administrator
privileges and those who do not. Additionally, permission for protocol editing may be assigned
to groups. If your system is set up for enterprise log on, your IT person or administrator will use
more of the features.

To clear the collision sensor on a GE Revolution CT, remove any obstructions detected by the sensors located beneath the front and back of the table. Once the area is clear, you can continue positioning the table.
