Starter/Reverse Switch Line - Honda GL1800 Service Manual

AUDIO SYSTEM
SPEED PULSE SIGNAL LINE
Place the motorcycle on its center stand, then shift
the transmission into neutral.
Measure the voltage between the White/black wire
terminal (+) of the audio unit 34P (gray) connector
and ground (–) with the ignition switch turned to
"ON."
There should be 0 V to 5 V pulse voltage while
slowly turning the rear wheel by hand.

STARTER/REVERSE SWITCH LINE

Measure the voltage between the Yellow/red wire
terminal (+) of the audio unit 34P gray connector
and ground (–) with the ignition switch turned to
"ON" and the engine stop switch turned to "
There should be battery voltage when the starter/
reverse switch is pushed
If there is no voltage, check the following:
– open or short circuit in the Yellow/red wire
– loose or poor contact in related connectors
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the top shelter (page 2-12).
Remove the ten screws and separate the front and
rear top shelters.
Remove the two screws and audio unit.
Install the audio unit in the reverse order of
removal.
