BATTERY/CHARGING SYSTEM

WIRE HARNESS INSPECTION

Remove the left side cover (page 2-5).
Remove the left engine side cover (page 2-5).

BATTERY CHARGING LINE

Measure the voltage between the alternator cable
terminal (+) and ground (–).
There should be battery voltage at all times.

BATTERY VOLTAGE LINE

Measure the voltage between the Black/yellow wire
terminal (+) of the alternator 4P connector and
ground (–).
There should be battery voltage with the ignition
switch turned to "ON" and the engine stop switch
turned to "
Install the removed parts in the reverse order of
removal.
ALTERNATOR
REMOVAL
Remove the left engine side cover (page 2-5).
Remove the fuel tank (page 5-56).
Disconnect the alternator 4P connector.
Pull the rubber cap off the alternator terminal,
remove the nut and disconnect the alternator cable.
Remove
alternator.
