Apply engine oil to the threads and seating surface

of a new lock nut, and install it.

Shift the transmission into any gear except neutral.

Apply the rear brake and tighten the lock nut.

TORQUE: 127 N·m (13.0 kgf·m, 94 lbf·ft)

If the engine was removed from the frame, hold the

output shaft with the special tool and tighten the

Shaft holder

Stake the lock nut into the mainshaft groove.

Be careful not to

mainshaft threads.

Apply engine oil to the sliding surface of the lifter

joint piece.

Install lifter plate A and secure it with the stopper

Make sure the stop-

per ring is seated

CLUTCH COVER INSTALLATION

Apply grease to the lips of a new lifter joint piece oil

Install the oil seal into the clutch cover with the flat

side facing up until the snap ring groove is visible.

Install the snap ring into the cover groove securely.
