4. Check for continuity between the Blue/green wire
terminal of the relay connector and ground.
There should be continuity when the transmis-
sion is in neutral, or when the clutch is disen-
gaged and the side stand is retracted.
• If there is continuity, the system is OK; check
for loose contacts or corroded terminals.
• If there is no continuity, check the following:
– open circuit in the Blue/green wire between
– faulty diode (D2, D3 or D11) in the reverse
– open circuit in the Green/red wire between
– faulty clutch switch
– open circuit in the Green/white between
– faulty side stand switch
REVERSE SWITCH
REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
Remove the right engine side cover (page 2-5).
Pull the rubber cap off the reverse switch.
Remove the terminal nut and reverse switch wire.
Remove the reverse switch from the crankcase.
Install the reverse switch with a new sealing washer
and tighten it.
TORQUE: 12 N·m (1.2 kgf·m, 9 lbf·ft)
Install the switch wire and tighten the terminal nut.
TORQUE: 2 N·m (0.2 kgf·m, 1.4 lbf·ft)
Install the rubber cap on the reverse switch.
Install the right engine side cover (page 2-5).
