GEARSHIFT LINKAGE/TRANSMISSION

Install the alternator drive gear by aligning the bolt

holes in the crankshaft and gear.

Apply engine oil to the threads and seating surface

of the drive gear bolts and install them.

Remove the timing hole cap and hold the ignition

pulse generator bolt which is located on the oppo-

site side of the crankcase and tighten the bolts.

TORQUE: 25 N·m (2.6 kgf·m, 19 lbf·ft)

Install the shift drum lock arm and reverse shifter

(page 19-43).

Install the primary drive gear and spline washer.

Install the primary driven gear with the long boss

side facing out while aligning the scissors gears

(primary drive gear and sub-gear) by inserting the

screwdriver into the gear holes.
