Before you perform the QoS configuration tasks listed above, you should define ACLs.
You can use packet filter simply by activating the ACL for it, which is beyond the scope
of this chapter.
Only the rules including these elements defined in template can be sent to target
hardware and referenced for such QoS functions as packet filtering, traffic policing,
priority re-labeling. Otherwise, the rules cannot be activated on the hardware. The ACL
combined mode is following.

2.4.1 Configuring Service Group Allocation Rules

QoS that applies on the switches is set up on the basis of service group. Each service
group includes a set of QoS related parameters including 802.1p precedence (CoS
precedence), DSCP precedence, local precedence (which is assigned to packets and
has local significance), and conform-level (also called drop precedence due to its
bearing on packet drop decision).
Upon the receipt of a packet, the switch automatically allocates a set of service
parameters to the packet based on a particular rule. First, the switch looks up the CoS
to drop-precedence and CoS to local-precedence maps for the conform-level and
local-precedence of the packet based on its 802.1p precedence. Default settings of
these maps are available for you, yet you are allowed to configure them as needed. If
no local-precedence is available for the packet, the switch takes the default
local-precedence assigned to the packet receiving port as the local-precedence of the
packet.
