Using the IP address configuration command
Allocated by BOOTP server (S3526, S3526 FM and S3526 FS switches not
support this configuration in S3500 series switches.)
Allocated by DHCP server (S3526, S3526 FM and S3526 FS switches not support
this configuration in S3500 series switches.)
These three methods are mutually exclusive and a new configuration will replace the
current IP address. For example, if you apply for an IP address using the ip address
bootp-alloc command, the address allocated by BOOTP shall replace the
currently-configured IP address.
This chapter just introduces how to configure an IP address with the IP address
configuration command and the other two methods are to be discussed in the
subsequent chapters.

1.2.1 Configure Hostname and Host IP Address

Perform the following configuration in System view.

By default, there is no host name associated to any host IP address.

1.2.2 Configure IP Address of the VLAN Interface

You can configure an IP address for every VLAN interface of the Ethernet Switch.
Generally, it is enough to configure one IP address for an interface. You can also
configure 10 IP addresses for an interface at most, so that it can be connected to
several subnets. Among these IP addresses, one is the primary IP address and all
others are secondary.
Perform the following configuration in VLAN interface view.
