To address the problem, deploy an monitoring group on Router1 and Router2, and add multiple
network-side interfaces of a Router to the interface monitoring group. The interface monitoring
group monitors the status of the network-side interfaces. If the number of network-side interfaces
in the Down state reaches a certain value, the interface monitoring group triggers the status of
corresponding access-side interfaces to change, triggering a master/backup switchover of access-
side links. This prevents traffic overload and ensures normal service forwarding.

3.4 Configuring an Interface Monitoring Group

In a dual-system backup scenario, an interface monitoring group can be configured to associate
the network-side interface status with the access-side interface status in order to trigger a master/
backup switchover of access-side links.
